The secret to maintaining a long distance relationship is contact. But what do you do if you can’t be physically present (I mean, it is long-distance…)? You have to be really creative.
1. Send real mail. A letter. An envelope with random stuff. A box with random stuff. It gives them something to touch and hold. It makes you real. Mix CDs are good to include. But anything works really. Don’t send sexy stuff (that just makes things tricky).
2. Skype like crazy. It is free. Try to make sure you are not in a public space so you can get more intimate but public is okay too as long it isn’t every time you Skype.
3. Email. Try to vary the lengths. Include pictures, music, whatever else you can find.
