Colo. cops hunting man who hid in portable toilet at yoga festival; ‘Sky’ the bum suspected peeper

Colorado cops have a Porta-Pervert on their hands.
Police in Boulder, Colo., are hunting for a Peeping Tom who hid in the basin of a portable toilet at a weekend yoga festival before being spotted and taking off “covered in feces.”
A woman at the Hanuman Festival, a yoga and music festival, was using the toilet Friday when she suspected someone was hiding in the bowl under a tarp, Boulder’s Daily Camera reported.
The spooked yogi told a pal, who saw the tarp move and went to grab a security guard.
When the friend left the toilet, he heard it lock from the inside, the Camera reported.
The guard waited outside until a lanky white man with no shoes or shirt came out, covered in poop.
The suspect made a run for it and got away, cops said.
Witnesses said the man was between 6-feet-4 and 6-feet-8 with short dark hair and leather cuffs on both wrists.
He fits the description of a well-known Boulder bum known as “Sky,” cops said.
Boulder police spokeswoman Kim Kobel told the Camera that cops are baffled as to how he squeezed his big frame into the tank.
If found, he’ll face charges of criminal attempt to make unlawful sexual contact. Read more

Somewhere in a parallel universe a pair of twins were spewed out from the loins of the Great Cosmic Mother with such force that it ruptured the firmament and caused the twins to be born to two different earth mothers in different countries at different times and eventually both ended up in La La Land.

Ultra flexible? You’re at triple risk for migraines
Joint hypermobility syndrome, migraines both rooted in same cause: too-elastic collagen
updated 3/2/2011 4:17:11 PM ET
NEW YORK — People with severe forms of double jointedness have a greater risk of suffering from migraine headaches, a new study finds. They also tend to have more severe and more frequent migraines.
Researchers say that the two conditions — “joint hypermobility syndrome” and migraines — may have causes rooted in the same problem.
People who fit the profile for having joint hypermobility have contortionist-like flexibility. They are able to bend their thumbs back to their forearms, overextend their elbows, and place their palms on the floor without bending their knees, for instance.
“It’s a disease of collagen, basically,” study author Dr. Vincent Martin, a professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Ohio, told Reuters Health.
Collagen is one of the body’s basic building blocks, helping to form myriad structures, including the joints and blood vessels.
Martin’s hypothesis is that if the collagen is too elastic, it leads to both flexible joints and stretchy blood vessels — problems involved in joint hypermobility syndrome and migraine, respectively.
Martin had noticed in his clinical practice that double-jointed patients seemed to suffer from migraines, too. He also pulled from his own experience, having both hypermobility and migraine headaches.

We receive a lot of “yoga related” products to review here at Elephantbeans and just when we think we have seen everything, ten new things pop up. While there is a lot of useless junk made by companies seeking to bank on the yoga trend (translucent white yoga shorts?), there is also an exciting momentum around engineering more sustainable, durable, and convenient mats, clothes, and more.
While the extra seven plus pounds of mat plus awkward rolled appendage is a small price to pay considering the incredibly unhygenic state of many studio mat rentals, it is nice to have an alternative.
At first glance, the Gaiam Reversible Travel Yoga Mat is unconvincing. It is a super thin cloth similar to a yoga towel or rug but with a slight stickiness so you know it is meant to be used as a mat/towel alternative. Very skeptical, our review team threw down a mean primary series and even with the bone cracking rolls of garbha pindasana and neck ouching sarvangasana, the mat provided enough padding for an Ashtangi that appreciates a firm surface.
-Great for travel, folds up and is very light
-Absorbs moisture and is easy to clean
-Ideal surface for someone interested in practicing on a firm surface (you can really feel the floor
-Not good for anything that requires extra padding such as the exit vinyasas at the end of intermediate series
-Not sure this would be the right surface if placed on a carpet
The Ashtangites on our team are mostly traditionalists (or maybe just orientalists?) that take an unhealthy pride in their “authentic” cotton Mysore rug usage. That being said, even the main shala in Mysore is carrying their own rendition of the yoga towel.
Manduka’s eQua Plus Towel reminded us of a pack towel and when we checked their website, indeed this was listed as an alternative use. Mat towels are placed on top of your mat or your mat rental. This towel is lighter and packs up smaller than a cotton Mysore rug, but it is also thinner. If you want the extra cushioning that a rug provides, look elsewhere.
-Great for travel, folds up and is very light
-Absorbs moisture and is easy to clean
-Possibly not good for anything that requires extra padding such as the exit vinyasas at the end of intermediate series unless you pair it with the classic Black Mat® PRO
-Comes in bright vibrant colors
-The suede-like surface claims to be slip-resistant when moist, however, our reviewer isn’t the super slippy whining type so we can’t varify this
-New coconut technology claims to “spread and evaporate moisture and provide superior odor management by eliminating bacteria”
